The accreditation department of Dubai Municipality has recently held a customers’ forum for the calibration and testing laboratories in the emirate of Dubai.
The forum was aimed at creating awareness on the most advanced trends and developments in the fields of accreditation department and attended by more than 100 stakeholders and customers.
Amina Ahmed, director accreditation department, opened the forum and affirmed that the quality can be only achieved by the teamwork and the maintenance of the quality in the testing and calibration labs is very important as we need to ensure the trust of society on our services.
During the forum, Professor Mufeed Al Samrai, the consultant in Sharjah Research Association, presented a paper under the title ‘New trends in sustainable buildings’ where he focused on the importance of sustainability in the green buildings and praised the role of Municipality, the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and the federal government in leading the region through adopting the advanced rules and specifications to promote green materials and green buildings.
Dr. Mamduh Halawa, head of measurements at national institution for specifications, ministry of electrify , Egypt, also delivered a presentation on the principles and benefits of lab accreditation in the field of calibration and testing.
Dr. Najib Ibrahim, senior accreditation officer at Dubai Municipality has delivered a presentation that included procedures of the accreditation department , its new policies and efficiency of testing …etc.
Mr. Prabhakaran from DM accreditation department shed light on the role played by the department in the past decade.
Three of the participants were awarded for their outstanding cooperation with DM and other cooperating laboratories were honoured.
