Fifty One East, the leading luxury retail chain in Qatar, and Sony Middle East and Africa, the leading consumer electronics brand, announced the new VAIO Fit PC at a collaborative workshop attended by representatives from Fifty One East and Sony, as well as the local media.
Offering uncompromising notebook experience for productive work and play, featuring a multi-flip hinge that transforms the PC to tablet or viewer modes while offering the functionality of a traditional clamshell laptop.
The new VAIO Fit multi-flip PC series comes in 15-inch, 14-inch and 13-inch screen sizes to suit the computing needs of versatile customers and available at all Fifty One East’s outlets located in Lagoona Mall, Al Maha Centre, and City Center Doha Mall in addition to all Virgin Megastores.
Sony’s VAIO Fit’s laptop mode comfortably delivers the same performance as conventional notebook PCs. In tablet mode, it is best utilised for browsing the web, taking pictures, and writing with the digitizer stylus1. The viewer mode allows the user to share the experience of watching a video or movie with another viewer. This makes the VAIO Fit A ideal for professionals, students, designers or entrepreneurs.
A representative of Fifty One East said, “We’re continuing to deliver the best of Sony’s product to our customers featuring the ground-breaking multi-flip PC series. Sony’s biggest innovations integrate the latest technology that suits to the needs of the Qatari audience. We are pleased that the new Sony’s VAIO stylish and handy design is now at our store array and we firmly believe that it will bring our clientele the feeling of satisfaction in more simple and productive way.”
The PC’s thin chassis is constructed with an aluminium hairline finish. The notebook comes with a full-pitch keyboard, touch pad and palm rest to offer a comfortable typing experience. A backlit keyboard allows users to work in low-light conditions.
The VAIO Inspiration Suite aims to replace the necessity of pen and paper with a collection of core apps that allow users to seamlessly capture, edit and organise content on their VAIO notebooks.
In addition, the VAIO Fit multi-flip PC comes pre-loaded with a trio of apps. After shooting and reorienting images on CamScanner, users can then clip out the subject of the image using VAIO Clip and write memos on top of the images with their digitizer stylus in VAIO Paper. This provides the same experience as drafting or sketching with pen and paper and much more.
Combining the best of Sony’s digital imaging expertise, the Exmor RS for PC imaging sensor found on the VAIO Fit 13A makes it possible to capture high-resolution images of documents. Images are clear enough for the computer to recognise and tag texts in the photos, which works harmoniously with the CamScanner2 app. The back-illuminated CMOS sensor also ensures there is reduced noise in low-light situations.
Sony has also incorporated other key technologies into the VAIO Fit multi-flip PC such as the TRILUMINOS display for mobile and X-RealityTM for mobile, adapted from technology used in the Sony BRAVIA 2013 range of TVs. These allow for a more vivid reproduction of colours on screen and ensure the sharpest picture quality. The VAIO Fit multi-flip PC is also powered to deliver dynamic bass and soaring highs without distortion with the ClearAudio+ mode that uses a variety of sound technologies to deliver a superior audio performance. With one simple operation, users can enjoy music with the levels of sharpness and depth that the artist intended.
The VAIO Fit multi-flip PC is NFC-enabled, which makes connecting devices to the PC a breeze. By simply hovering compatible NFC products over the PC, you can stream music from the PC directly to your NFC speakers.
