Hamleys, the internationally renowned British toy retailer, recently celebrated the opening of its third location in Amman on Thursday, May 1st. Hamleys invited the Jordanian public to take part in a host of exciting activities during the opening celebrations at the new store, located on the third floor of City Mall.
The opening of the store was inaugurated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony in the presence of Imad Bukhari, CEO of THE Group, the retail pioneer behind Cozmo, BHS, Readers and Hamleys. Children and their families were invited to celebrate the opening with an array of exciting entertainment, including face painting, balloon shaping, an interactive drum show and an engaging dance performance. Meanwhile, visitors across City Mall were treated to a marching parade featuring the much-loved Hamleys bear, who made his first-ever appearance in Jordan for the occasion. City Mall guests can now experience the latest in toy innovation in a fun, friendly, hands-on environment.
Commenting on the successful opening, THE Group CEO Imad Bukhari said, “We are excited to launch our third Hamleys store at City Mall, an iconic and popular destination that caters to a wide Jordanian audience. By opening this new location, we seek to meet the increasing demand for Hamleys’ high-quality selection of toys and cater to our ever-expanding base of loyal customers. Hamleys promises a unique shopping experience for each and every visitor, and through this expansion we hope to welcome many new families and children who have yet to discover the world-renowned and universally loved Hamleys brand.”
With a legacy that extends well over 250 years, Hamleys opened its first Jordanian branch in June 2008. With locations in Abdoun, Mecca Street and now City Mall, the store features a host of toys and games that suit children and teens as well as adults. With a well-trained staff and hands-on entertainment for children, Hamleys is a special outing for the entire family, offering competitive pricing and quality toys ranging from soft toys to arts and crafts, to outdoor toys, each playing an important part in stimulating the physical, mental and psychological wellbeing of a child.
