Kifaf General Trading, better known as KGT – the Dubai-based independent distribution and customer care group – has signed an agreement with Lenovo to distribute their smartphone devices to the independent retail channel in the UAE.
The two-year, renewable partnership agreement started on April 1st 2014 and creates access for Lenovo to a channel, which accounts for 40 per cent of annual smartphone retail sales in the ever increasing UAE market.
Under the new agreement, KGT will distribute Lenovo smartphones across the UAE independent channel network through KGT’s own dedicated channel team, which covers more than 700 registered retail partners across all seven emirates in the UAE.
Through KGT, Lenovo smartphones will be available as standalone devices and as part of a bundling together operator airtime and data products in the retail channel, in a unique consumer retail offer designed to build sales volumes across Lenovo’s entire smartphone range. In addition, KGT will provide value-added distribution services across the retail channel with marketing and brand-building support activities, including training programmes and trade schemes and incentives.
Trevor Price, Chief Executive Officer of KGT, which also owns the Technocare Service Centers in the UAE, said, “We are very pleased to be partnering with Lenovo in the UAE and excited to be part of the company’s ambitious expansion plans [for the UAE]. We have a great fit with Lenovo, in terms of our shared UAE strategy and commitment to the local market. Our deep hands-on engagement with the channel and pro-active approach to marketing and business building will ultimately ensure that consumers in the UAE will benefit from Lenovo’s new range of high quality, great value smartphones.”
