A ‘Data Dissemination and Data Warehousing’ training workshop conducted by National Center for Statistics and Information (NCSI) was concluded. The workshop was held in cooperation with the Statistical, Economic and Social Research Training Centre for Islamic Countries (SESRIC) and was held from March 30 to April 1. A number of specialists in data dissemination and data warehousing from different government bodies participated in the workshop.
The Statistical, Economic and Social Research and Training Centre for Islamic Countries (SESRIC), was founded as a subsidiary of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) with the mandate to process and disseminate socio-economic statistics and information for the use of member countries. SESRIC regularly organises training programmes geared to the needs of the member countries as well as to the general objectives of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation.
The ‘Data Dissemination and Data Warehousing’ workshop discussed a number of topics regarding data dissemination and warehousing, in addition to the latest best-practice methods used in analyzing database information. Commenting on the importance of organizing such workshops, Yousef bin Mohammed Al-Riyami, Head of the Directorate of Strategy, Human Resource Development and Quality Assurance said, “NCSI conducts such workshops to enhance the skills of Omanis working with different sectors of governmental bodies.”
“The workshop was a good opportunity of the participants to have an understanding of the modern tools used in disseminating and warehousing data. The Centre will continue to organize other workshops, as previously organized workshops were successful and were praised by different governmental sectors,” he added.
