The Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (SC) joined in the International Labors Day Celebration organised by the Ministry of Interior (MoI), in association with its internal departments and external agencies. The program was also developed in association with Indian Community Benevolent Forum under the Indian Embassy in Doha.
The MoI celebration included a day-long line up of entertainment, cultural, sports, and safety & security awareness programs at Al Rayyan Sports Club. The variety of activities included volleyball and football matches, cultural shows and musical performances. On the sidelines of the entertainment, health organisations from across Qatar organised free health screenings and educational activities. The event was attended by more than 5000 workers of different nationalities, from more than 50 of companies in Qatar.
“The Supreme Committee is honored to support the Ministry of Interior on this important day that celebrates the diversity of our community and the workers that are helping build our country,” said Nasser Al Khater, Executive Director of Communications and Marketing for the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy.
“Using sport, and football in particular, to deliver social and educational programming is an important part of our mission,” said Al Khater. “Today’s event successfully combined educational and recreational programs to enhance the welfare of workers and bring people together, in line with the Supreme Committee’s legacy goals,” he added.
