TÜV Rheinland Arabia, the subsidiary of German based TÜV Rheinland Group, a global provider of technical safety and certification services has signed a Recognition Program with Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) to issue Certificates of Conformity (CoC) for shipments of products imported to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This certificate is a mandatory requirement by Saudi customs to release the shipments at Saudi ports.
The recognition program was signed in Riyadh in the presence of the Governor of SASO, His Excellency Dr. Saad AI Kasabi and the Managing Director of TÜV Rheinland, Mr. Muhammad Asif and SASO representatives.
This program is a step towards building a trust to ensure that all products that enter into the Saudi market are legitimate and meet the latest safety standards. Together TÜV Rheinland and SASO will join hands for the safety of the Saudi consumers.
TÜV Rheinland and some other organizations specializing in product safety field have signed this program to ensure the quality and safety of products entering into the Saudi Market. This program aims at reinforcing Consumer Safety and Protection. The companies will be required to test and inspect the products coming in to Saudi Arabia at the country of origin prior to the shipment.
The program has been carefully outlined with defined scope and approved safety standards. The entire process for the clearance of the products will be closely monitored by a committee comprised of SASO, Saudi Customs and Ministry of Commerce and Industry to ensure that consumer safety is not compromised under any circumstances.
