Zain, the leading telecommunications company in Kuwait, announced today the commencement of the second “Zain Penalty Tournament” in collaboration with the United Sports Company “mala3ibna”. The tournament will take place at Al Shaab Park’s “Goal” football pitch from 7-14 July during the Holy Month of Ramadan. The company announced that it hosts National goalkeeper and Kuwait Sports Club’s player Musaab Al Kandari as the tournament’s ambassador, due to his outstanding football achievements. This initiative comes in line with Zain’s extensive Ramadan Corporate Social Responsibility program during the holy month to cater to and engage youth into activities that highlight their talents.

Zain explained that it organized the tournament for the second consecutive year after the overwhelming participation it witnessed last year. The company further highlighted that each team consists of a goalkeeper and a striker, where the tournament will be held on a knock-out basis. The first place winner will be rewarded with KD 2000 while second place winner will receive smartphones as a prize from the company.

It is worth noting that Zain organizes and sponsors a number of sports and health projects during the Holy Month of Ramadan, most notably Kuwait’s biggest and first of its kind health programs; the Rijeemy Walkathon. The program will be held in Mall 360 throughout the first 20 days of Ramadan, and will feature an array of health related programs and activities that will cater to a fasting person’s daily routine. The initiatives and programs Zain plans for Ramadan will include humanitarian, voluntary, cultural, religious, and recreational activities as well to cater to the different segments of society. ENDS
