INJAZ UAE, a member of Junior Achievement Worldwide, in partnership with Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development, announced the winners of their Annual Company Program Competition. At a special ceremony held in Dubai last night, over 100 students from five universities across the UAE presented their company projects as they competed for the ‘Best Company of the Year’ award.

Team Kashtah from Ajman University for Science and Technology – Fujairah won the prestigious award for their company idea.

H.E. Abdullah Saeed Al Darmaki, CEO of Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development, said, “For the 6th straight year, we are very pleased to have partnered with INJAZ UAE on this important initiative which aims to empower Emirati youth and instill in them a spirit of entrepreneurship and responsibility towards contributing to our nation’s economy.”

“This competition and other INJAZ UAE initiatives serve to boost students’ creative spirit and business acumen, as demonstrated by the strong submissions we received this year. We are confident that all of the participants are heading towards a bright future, and we wish them all the best of luck as they continue down the path towards achieving their goals,” he continued.

Throughout the 15-week company program, student participants were mentored by private-sector volunteers and learned key entrepreneurial skills, enabling them to adopt innovative and creative thinking to establish their small scale business ventures. The competition brought together top business dignitaries and leaders, INJAZ UAE board members, private sector volunteers, educators, parents, and other stakeholders who witnessed the hard work of the young student entrepreneurs.

Commenting on this year’s competition, Sulaf Saleh Al-Zu’bi, CEO, INJAZ UAE, said, “Each year, this competition witnesses increasingly innovative business plans – proving how effective the Company Program is in inspiring students towards becoming entrepreneurs and raising their awareness towards the realities of the business world. All of the submissions were outstanding, with each participant learning just how rewarding an entrepreneurial career can be. We look forward to seeing what these young leaders will do in the future, and how they will inspire the next generation.”

Asma Ahmad, CEO of student team Olbati, who won the ‘CEO of the Year’ award, said, “This competition taught us so much about what goes into starting a business, from concept creation to implementation and managing financials. We thank INJAZ UAE, Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development, our mentor and all our supporters for this amazing opportunity and for giving us the strength, confidence and encouragement to turn this dream into a reality.”
