The accreditation department at Dubai Municipality has hosted the 3rd general assembly meeting of Arab Accreditation Cooperation recently at Vermount hotel in Dubai.
The meeting discussed on various accreditation systems prevailing in the Arab region as well as their position in the global arena in addition to future plans and projects.
More than fifty personalities participated at the event including heads of regional and international accreditation bodies, experts, and members of ARAC committees.
Amina Ahmed Mohammed, Director, accreditation department said the meeting has an important role in improving accreditation systems prevailing in the region.
According to her, the attendees included dignitaries like Mohamed Ben Youssef, director of Arab Industrial Development& Mining Organization (AIDMO), Ali Badarneh Project Manager from United Nation Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO),and Ms. Margaretta Davidson Abdelli, Representative of the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA).
She said, ARAC, which was established by AIDMO member countries under SIDA-funded project and with the technical support of UNIDO, has the clear mandate to assist countries in the Arab region in achieving international recognition for their accreditation systems with the aim of fostering regional integration.
During the meeting, chairs of different ARAC committees presented the committees reports.
Chair of of International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation(ILAC), International Accreditation Forum (IAF), European Co-operation for Accreditation (EA), Asia Pacific Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation(APLAC), African Accreditation Cooperation (AFRAC)presented achievements of their cooperation bodies.
