Eng. Hussain Nasser Lootah Director General of Dubai Municipality has praised the efforts exerted Environment Centre for Arab Towns and said it has supported several towns in the Arab world in a better way for achieving environmental sustainability.
It came during a function recently held at the municipality to honour centre’s leadership team for bagging a number of remarkable awards and prizes.
While talking at the function, he said ECAT’s various initiatives and programs have contributed a lot in transforming Arab cities to human habitats having sustainable environment where pollution is less and clean resources are in abundance.
As the UAE is taking the concept of green economy to wider spectrums, ECAT is supporting its move by creating relationships and collaborations with various international organizations and bodies for knowledge sharing, research and join-tasks, Lootah observed.
It is noted that ECAT has actively participated in recently held Green Economy Summit, WETEX, Green Energy Conference and many other national and international events which duly acknowledged centre’s efforts in the field of environment.
Arab Organization for Social Responsibility has recently honoured the centre by conferring Golden Excellence Award for best Arab environmental practices.
ECAT has also been given Permanent Partner shield by Green Energy Summit organized by Dubai Electricity & Water Authority.
Also, the centre participated in the 8th International Municipal Conference held recently at Abu Dhabi by organizing an exhibition to share scientific knowledge, important initiatives and best practices in the field of environment, which won great appreciation from the organizers and general viewers.
ECAT leaders handed over, shields, cups and mementos received from many organizations recently, to Eng. Lootah and expressed their gratitude towards Dubai Municipality for its continuous support to the centre in various efforts.
