The Qatar International Court and Dispute Resolution Centre (QICDRC) has hosted a delegation from the United Nations Office of Drugs and Crime (UNODC), as part of the delegation’s official visit to the State of Qatar to learn about the country’s experiences combating corruption and economic crimes.
The UNODC delegation listened to a detailed explanation about the QFC Regulatory Tribunal and the QFC Civil and Commercial Court, which are part of the Qatar International Court structure, as well as the procedures followed in the areas of corruption and economic crime.
The delegation then toured the QICDRC’s courtroom facilities where they were briefed on the advanced electronic services the QICDRC provides to guarantee quick effective decisions on the conflicts and issues heard before it.
This was followed by a general discussion on the registration of cases and about the nature of courtroom proceedings.
At the end of the visit, the UNODC delegation members expressed their gratitude for the warm reception and the opportunity to get closely acquainted with the QICDRC. The delegation was accompanied by representatives from the Public Prosecutor’s Office in the State of Qatar.
