Abu Dhabi bourse falls below 5,000 points

The Abu Dhabi equity index (ADXGI) followed the sluggish trend in Dubai and fell by 1.20 per cent to 4,988.08 points on Sunday, May 11. While market bellwether Emirates Telecommunications Corporation of Etisalat gained 0.90 per cent to hit AED11.40, the developer was the beaten boy of the day. Aldar Properties (down by 6.05 per cent to AED3.88), Eshraq Properties (down by 9.80 per cent to AED1.84) and RAK Properties (down by 3.97 per cent to AED1.21) underperformed. Approximately 291 million shares were traded, valued at AED718 million.
