Bahrain market stabilises further
The Bahrain All Share Index added 0.13 per cent to end at 1,369.56 points on Wednesday, March 5. Bahrain Telecom (Batelco) plummeted by 6.43 per cent to BD0.32. Islamic bank Al-Salam Bahrain was the top gainer as the share surged by 9.37 per cent to BD0.21. Earlier in the day, the telecom firm said in a filing to the market the group’s 33rd annual general meeting saw shareholders approve the recommendation of the board of directors for a full-year cash dividend of BD31.7 million ($84.1m), at a value of 20 fils per share, of which ten fils per share was already paid during Q3 2013 with the remaining ten fils to be paid in March 2014.
