A cooperation protocol between Cairo Governorate and Samsung Electronics Egypt
HE DR. Galal Mostafa Saeed- the Governor of Cairo has reaffirmed his commitment towards the development and welfare of the Egyptian community. This objective could be achieved through establishment of mega projects that offer Egyptian citizens the most needed services.
Therefore, HE Dr. Galal Mostafa Saeed- the Governor of Cairo has invited HE Mr. Kim Young Sou- the South Korean Ambassador to Cairo, to attend the signing ceremony of the Cooperation Protocol between Cairo Governorate and Samsung Electronics Egypt to build two Pedestrian Bridges in Ramses Street and Al Azhar Street. The selected streets are considered the busiest in Cairo which witness remarkable traffic congestion, while the bridges are expected to ease the congestion and enable pedestrians to walk in a safer environment.
The first bridge will be built in Ramses street, one of Cairo’s busiest streets, with Cairo Railway Station and the Main Metro Station in the heart of it. The street is a central meeting point for upper and lower Egypt governorates.
On the other hand, the second pedestrian bridge will be in Al Azhar Street, which is located in an Islamic monumental area, including Al Hussein Mosque and Shrine and Al Azhar Mosque. The new bridge will add a distinctive image to the area, which is extensively visited by foreigners and tourists.
“Our decision to contribute in developing the infrastructure of these streets comes as part of Samsung’s overall philosophy to support the growth and improvement of the communities where we operate,” said Seung-Ho Yun, Managing Director of Samsung Egypt. “Our hope is that these bridges will offer pedestrians a safe place to walk, protecting them from potential road risks. As concerned corporate citizens we believe we have a duty to support local development whenever possible.”
