Dubai Municipality urges cooperation to prevent smoking in public places
Dubai Municipality has launched a campaign to implement the Council of Ministers Resolution No. 24 of 2013 and Regulations under Federal Law No 15 of 2009 on Tobacco Control, concerning the prohibition and control of tobacco use in public places for the public interest.
Hence, Dubai Municipality hereby calls upon all members of the community and concerned parties to cooperate with the implementation of the Resolution as required; with the aim at building a healthy and safe community and clean environment free of tobacco toxins.
The move comes in the context of some violations reported from the different parts of the emirate breaching the rules of smoking in public places.
Dubai Municipality is also ready to support and cooperate with all parties to implement the provisions of above referred Resolution.
Eng. Hussain Nasser Lootah, Director of Dubai Municipality said, the civic body is implementing this federal law as part of its commitment to the Federal Government and social responsibility in preserving the public health in line with the vision of Dubai Municipality to create an excellent city that provides essence of success and comfort of sustainable living.
