The World Bank has approved a $250m loan to Jordan to help ease the country’s fiscal strains, which, according to the bank, have been deepened by the influx of Syrian refugees and the regional turmoil, Jordan Times has reported. The World Bank extended $700m in loans and grants to Jordan over the last two years, which has focused on a two-track approach, medium-term budget support and emergency response to the Syrian crisis.
