Manateq to celebrate its first National Sports Day
Manateq – the foremost developer and operator of advanced economic zones and other related projects that offer world-class business environments to the Qatari private sector – is all set to celebrate its first-ever participation in the National Sports Day of Qatar with a corporate function to be held at the Katara Cultural Village on 11 February 2014.
Manateq’s corporate function comes in accordance with the pioneering initiative of HH Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of Qatar, who issued an Emiri Decree No. 80 issued on 6 December 2011. This decree declared every Tuesday during the second week of February each year as the State’s National Sports Day. Since, then all ministries and government bodies have lined up a series of public sporting events, which are also actively participated in by the private sector across the country.
By bringing together its employees and their families in a day of fun and sports, Manateq aims at prospering a positive work environment among the company’s most important assets. Additionally, the company is striving to assist all employees to better connect with each other while being away from a corporate setting. Thus, in investing on the employees’ physical health and intellectual well-being, the event is focused at raising a sense of collaboration and teamwork, which in turn would contribute to the attainment of excellent results for the company and society in general.
“The importance of engaging in such activities as sports is not only to promote its physical health and well-being benefits, but also to help build the concept of teamwork, camaraderie, collaboration, family and competitiveness among our employees, who in turn all play an integral part in the advancement of society in Qatar,” said Mr. Fahad Rashid Al-Kaabi, CEO of Manateq.
“Thus, in our quest towards achieving our objectives, whether as a nation or as individual organisations and companies, these concepts are definitely essential,” he added. “So, as we celebrate our first-ever participation in such an important occasion in Qatar, we look forward to an even more active involvement in Qatar’s National Sports Day in the coming years.”
