Omani central bank registers 11% rise in foreign assets

Oman’s central bank has said its total foreign assets climbed 11.2% to OR6.13bn as of December 2013 from OR5.51bn a year ago, Muscat Daily has reported. Of the total, investment in foreign securities rose 11.6% last year to OR4.76bn, compared with OR4.26bn in 2012, while foreign asset placements abroad increased by 11% to OR1.22bn from OR1.09bn. CBO’s reserve assets with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) rose to OR153m from OR148.3m in the previous year.
