Oman’s budget surplus down 35%

Oman’s budget surplus fell 35% to OR414m for the first two months of the current year, down from OR636.6m for the same period of 2013, mainly on account of surging government expenditure along with a fall in total revenue, Times of Oman has reported. The government’s expenditure and revenue are estimated at OR13.5bn and OR11.7bn, respectively, leaving an anticipated deficit of OR1.8bn for 2014, the report said.
