Qatar Projects Conference shares latest financing and procurement strategies
HSBC is hosting a special Financing and Procurement Strategies masterclass at the MEED 2014 Qatar Projects conference, designed to give organisations looking to get involved in Qatar’s dynamic projects market a clearer understanding of how to win new contracts and gain financing for Qatar’s planned projects. The aim is to provide insight on how to navigate the country’s changing legal, financing and procurement framework.
The Financing and Procurement masterclass begins with an economic outlook of Qatar’s projects market and funding needs to be presented by Edmund O’ Sullivan. This will be followed by a panel that identifies and evaluates financing options and strategies for Qatar including different perspectives on successfully obtaining financing in Qatar from HSBC Bank Middle East Limited, PWC Qatar and Faithful+Gould.
As part of the masterclass, Patton Boggs LLP will also host a presentation on the legal framework in Qatar, touching on the new government entity contracts and how they affect the future tendering and procurement process in Qatar.
The masterclass ends with an interesting session on private and contractor finance in Qatar, focusing on Qatar National Development Strategy targets, an important International Monetary Fund (IMF) assessment of contractor finance issues and the latest views on infrastructure-related risks.
The scheduled masterclass is a prelude to the MEED Qatar Projects 2014 which will take place on March 18-19, 2014 at the Grand Hyatt Doha. The conference is being supported by Samsung as the Official Technology Partner, Qatar Steel as Associate Partner, Mashreq and Global Building Solutions as Silver Sponsors, Parsons, Al Maysan and Larsen & Toubro as Bronze Sponsors.
