RAK Free Trade Zone provides community service during the holy month of Ramadan
Ras Al Khaimah Free Trade Zone (RAK FTZ), one of the most cost-effective and business-friendly free zones in the UAE, conducted a range of activities during the Holy Month of Ramadan that fostered community spirit across Ras Al Khaimah, and helped those who are less fortunate.
The “Compassion in a Box” campaign, which collected toiletries such as soap, lotion, shower gel, towels, toothpaste and brushes from RAK FTZ employees and distributed them to workers in labour camps around the emirate, was among the latest such initiatives.
Additionally, in the final days of Ramadan, Aysha Sulaiman, Human Resources and Development Manager at RAK FTZ; Mohammed Al Nuaimi, Government Relations Manager at RAK FTZ; and a number of RAK FTZ Department Heads, paid a visit to Obaidullah Elderly Hospital. They comforted patients who were separated from their families while receiving medical treatment, and gave out Eid gifts that put a smile on everyone’s faces.
“Ramadan is the month of receiving blessings and giving to other people, and this is why RAK FTZ organised charity events to support the community during this sacred time,” Mr Fort said. “The hospital visit was one of many events that RAK FTZ has conducted during Ramadan that highlight its commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). These include an Iftar party that fostered solidarity between clients, staff and their families; an Iftar for labourers from different labour camps in Ras Al Khaimah who were not able to arrange their own proper meals; and the 4th RAK FTZ Ramadan Volleyball Tournament, which encouraged camaraderie and a healthy lifestyle among people in organisations across Ras Al Khaimah.”
Mr Fort continued: “These activities are further examples of RAK FTZ’s year-round commitment to support the health and well-being of the community, along with our participation in the RAK Terry Fox Run, the annual RAK Half Marathon, Al Saqr Charity Foundation, Human Appeal International, and others.”
