S&P affirms Qatar’s ratings

April 6, 2014 9:16 am

Standard and Poor’s (S&P) has affirmed its long and short term foreign and local currency sovereign credit ratings on Qatar at ‘AA/A-1+’ with a “Stable” outlook, Gulf Times has reported. The country’s strong net external and fiscal asset positions balance the concentration risk related to the economy’s reliance on the oil and gas sector, S&P said, while also affirming the ‘AA’ long-term senior unsecured debt ratings on the bonds issued by Qatari Diar Finance and SoQ Sukuk.
