Dr. Mattar is the former Head of Research of Shuaa Capital and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in his new appointment.

Dr. Mattar has extensive experience in financial and economic analysis focusing on the MENA region and its capital markets in particular. In his previous role as Head of Research and Chief Economist of SHUAA Capital, Dr. Mattar built and oversaw the research business unit covering the MENA region. He was also a member of SHUAA Capital’s management committee. Prior to that, Dr. Mattar was the Director of Financial Markets Division at the Dubai International Financial Centre Authority (DIFC), where he performed macroeconomic and financial markets analysis for DIFC’s strategic decisions. Dr. Mattar makes frequent appearances in various regional and international media outlets and holds a Doctorate in Risk Management from the Sloan School of Management at MIT as well as a Master of Science in Construction Finance from MIT and a Bachelor of Engineering from the American University of Beirut.
