Cadillac serves as title sponsor of new Golf Cup League
Cadillac is the title sponsor of the new Cadillac Golf Cup League (CGCL), a series of 15 weekly competitions that is being held every Monday from August 25 through December 8 at the Emirates Golf Club’s Faldo course.
The winner of each weekly CGCL competition will drive home in a Cadillac. Prizes will be provided to runners-up as well.
Golfers with an official Emirates Golf Federation (EGF) handicap of 20 or below are welcome to join the CGCL. They can sign up by visiting cadillacgolf.ae/index.php/join/.
The top 40 players in the weekly competitions will be invited to play in the Cadillac Golf Cup Finale on December 15 to determine the winner of the Cadillac Golf Cup. The winner will be eligible to play in the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship Pro-Am, of which Cadillac is the official car sponsor.
Twenty golfers participated in the CGCL’s first round of competition on August 25. The sense of camaraderie and competitiveness was strong as the golfers worked their way around the course, vying for the privilege of taking the first win. Pontus Fredriksson, General Manager, Finance, Gulf Agency Company (Dubai) L.L.C., came out on top. He drove home in a Cadillac XTS.
The XTS is one of the most technologically advanced production cars in the brand’s history. It delivers the space, elegance and dramatic presence that are brand signatures in a unique package tuned for a new generation of luxury customers. It offers more interior space than midsize luxury cars and is comparable to full-size sedans, particularly in the rear seat area, where it has 40 inches (1,016 mm) of legroom – providing more room than its competition.
“We very much look forward to this collaboration,” said Felix Weller, Director of Cadillac Sales & Marketing, GM Middle East. “Since becoming the title sponsor of this competition, Cadillac has not only been committed to elevating its stature, but also to offering the unique experience of Cadillac to the UAE golf community. With our corporate sponsor, Liberty Automobiles Company L.L.C., each weekly winner from the tournament will be offered a Cadillac test-drive experience.”
Fredrik Schauman, the organizer and one of the key players in the league, stated: “We welcome the addition of Cadillac into our lifestyle. We know the league is now on a stronger foundation than ever before. The support of Cadillac has been nothing short of incredible throughout the entire process. Together, we can take the league to the next level.”
Cadillac has been a leading luxury auto brand since 1902. Today Cadillac is growing globally, driven by an expanding product portfolio featuring dramatic design and technology.
