Dubai Police has added yet another ultra-luxury set of wheels to its fleet, this time it’s a Bugatti Veyron. Complete with the white and green livery of the Dubai Police, and a flashing light bar fixed on the roof, it boasts 987 horsepower under the hood and can hit a top speed of 407km/h.It will spend most of its time patrolling the BurjKhalifa, The Dubai Mall and Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard areas.
Whilethe internet was abuzz with pictures of a Veyron sporting the Dubai Police logo back in May 2013, something that later transpired to be a set ofPhotoshoppedimages, it was only last week that the luxury motor was indeed added to the force’s collection.
Dubai Police chief major general,KhamisMattar Al Mazeina, says the Veyron, like many of the other supercars, is being used to promote Dubai as a top tourist destination and to gain the attention of organisers of international expos.
Al Mazeinaadds that the new car will have the #MyDubailogo printed on itssides, which is a social media initiative, started by His Highness Sheikh Hamdanbin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, to promote Dubai.
Although estimated to be worth between a whopping $2 million to $2.5m, the Veyron isn’t the most expensive car in Dubai Police’s fleet. That title goes to the limited-edition Aston Martin One-77.
Other Dubai Police supercars include:the Bentley Continental GT,BMW M6,Chevrolet Camaro SS,Dodge Challenger, Ferrari FF, Ford Mustang GT, Lamborghini Aventador, McLaren MP4-12C, Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG, and the Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG.
