The Maserati Ghibli, the brand’s new entrant in the E-segment of the premium sports car market, which is anticipated to be popular among UAE clients, arrived this week in the showrooms of Al Tayer Motors in Dubai and Premier Motors in Abu Dhabi.
“We begin 2014 with the much-awaited Ghibli, which makes this historic Italian brand more accessible to motoring enthusiasts. Maserati combines the right blend of motor racing heritage, luxury and performance with its inimitable design, which is among the many reasons that the brand enjoys so much appeal in the UAE. Interest in the Ghibli is extremely high and we are confident it will spur Maserati towards achieving its goals,” says Hossam Hosni, general manager of luxury auto at Al Tayer Motors.
The Ghibli and Ghibli S feature new-generation twin turbo-charged 3.0-litre V6 engines. With its power output of 410hp, the Ghibli S races to 100 km/h in 5.0 seconds and reaches a top speed of 285 km/h. The Ghibli, meanwhile, delivers 330hp, a top speed of 263 km/h and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.6 seconds.
Betting on the success of the Ghibli range in the Middle East region, the trident logo brand is expected to build 50,000 cars per year by 2015.
The Ghibli is available in the UAE from AED285,000, which is inclusive of a three-year or 60,000km full-service package and a three-year warranty with unlimited mileage.
The deliveries of the Ghibli models, which began recently, are expected to grow rapidly in the coming months.
Maserati’s flagship, the Quattroporte, comes with the same service and warranty package, starting at AED410,000. The sales of the sixth-generation Quattroporte and the GranTurismo range increased the carmaker’s sales by 44 per cent last year.
