Chevrolet Malibu is the industry’s longest-running midsize passenger car nameplate globally, spanning eight generations. The new customer-focused technologies contribute to greater connectivity and enhanced crash-avoidance capability of the 2014 Malibu.
The 2014 Malibu features the Chevrolet MyLink infotainment system, which allows users to engage their smartphone functions into a seven-inch full-color touch screen on the center stack.Users can connect their smartphone to the MyLink system through USB, Bluetooth or aux-in. After pairing, users can open phone books, personal playlists, photo galleries or other data stored in their smartphones simply by selecting menu on the seven-inch touch screen. In addition, an integrated navigation system is available on upper trim.
For 2014, the new array of advanced safety technology even further strengthens the Malibu’s world-class safety. It employs the Side blind zone alert and the Rear cross-traffic alert to help avoid crashes. The Side blind zone alert detects other vehicles in the blind zone areas and indicates their presence with LED-lit symbols in the outside mirrors, using radar sensors on both sides of the vehicle. The Rear cross-traffic alert warns the driver of vehicles in traffic when backing out of a parking spot – including angled parking. Visual and audible alerts are triggered if moving vehicles are detected. Both features come standard on upper trims.
