The all-new 2014 GMC Sierra Light Duty full-size pickup – the most powerful and advanced pickup in the brand’s 111-year history – was named the Truck of the Year by Evo Middle East, one of the leading auto publications distributed across the region. The award was presented to Markus Leithe, Regional Marketing Director of GM Middle East Operations.
The win can be attributed to the vehicle’s incredible performance prowess and best-in-class standards, which set an important benchmark for pickup safety and refinement. In effect, the voting jury at Evo Middle East – a monthly publication entirely dedicated to driving enthusiasts – recognized the pioneering model’s unique design cues and exclusive features.
“We are extremely proud to have received this prestigious Truck of the Year award from Evo Middle East – one of the auto industry’s most trusted publications,” said Leithe. “In addition to all-new design and technology, the 2014 Sierra boasts the longest list of standard features ever for a full-size GMC pickup, making it truly deserving of such an award. Engineered and built to ‘Command Respect’, the 2014 model further solidifies GMC’s reputation as a true leader in styling, performance and safety,” Leithe added.
Bassam Kronfli, Evo Middle East’s Publishing Editor-in-Chief also added, “The all-new 2014 GMC Sierra Light Duty full-size pickup is capable, powerful and refined – making it the ideal vehicle for both work and play. It ticks all the boxes and is simply the leader of its class when it comes to comfort and quality. Congratulations!”
The 2014 model’s bold new exterior comes with one of three all-new EcoTec3 engines, a fully updated cabin with available next-generation IntelliLink connectivity and other features designed for the most discerning pickup owners. From connectivity solutions, to a standard tie-down system in the rear, to the segment’s only standard projector beam headlamps, many premium features are found on each all-new Sierra.
