Automakers can positively contribute to the preservation of the environment through a two-pronged approach, comprising the introduction or the further improvement of their proprietary hybrid technologies, as well as by implementing business practices that help reduce waste and increase recycling – according to a senior AFM Lexus official who will be addressing delegates at this week’s International Sustainable Transportation Conference (ISTC).
“The introduction of Lexus RX hybrid – the world’s first luxury hybrid in 2005, means we are leaders in the luxury hybrid market,” said Chris Buxton, General Manager of Sales at Al-Futtaim Motors – Lexus. “With nearly 500,000 Lexus luxury hybrids sold from 2009 until end of 2013, Lexus hybrid is synonymous with quality and unwillingness to compromise.”
“Lexus’ commitment to recovering, recycling and re-using has permeated the entire company. To reduce waste to a minimum, Lexus recycle everything- in offices, factories, and sales facilities – reducing CO2 levels beyond our achievements on the road,” added Buxton.
The ISTC, which runs at Abu Dhabi’s Emirates Palace from March 19 – 20, is one of the essential conferences on the agenda of UAE Green Festival – a countrywide celebration that is specifically designed to educate people across the emirates about a new way of life that’s achievable in an enjoyable way.
As part of Al-Futtaim Motors – Lexus partnership with UAE Green Festival, the entire Lexus’ hybrid lineup will be displayed at Dubai Green Auto Show to be staged at Mohammed Bin Rashed Boulevard from April 3 – 10.
