Hyundai Motor Company has unveiled the All-New Genesis – a premium sedan that has been designed to set new standards in its class – for the first time in the Middle East and Africa. The All–New Genesis is the first Hyundai to feature the brand’s Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design concept, while also boasting significantly enhanced driving performance and state-of-the-art technologies such as a Head-Up Display, Smart Trunk function and Autonomous Emergency Braking.
First revealed in Korea at the end of 2013, the All-New Genesis received a record 3,500 orders on the first day of pre-orders, underscoring the excitement surrounding Hyundai’s newest model. The premium sedan is expected to prove equally popular in the Middle East and Africa, which is set to be its second biggest market after the US. Unveiled at a gala ceremony at the five-star Marriott Marquis Hotel in Dubai, the All-New Genesis also comes with Hyundai’s class-leading Premium Assurance Plus Program as standard.
Tom Lee, Vice President and Head of Hyundai Africa and Middle East Regional Headquarters, said, “The All-New Genesis will compete head-on with top-tier premium models in the Middle East and Africa and we are confident that it will set new standards in the sector for design and specification. The All-New Genesis features Hyundai’s most advanced technologies and has been subjected to relentless performance tests and undergone thorough quality checking.”
“We have high expectations that the all-new Genesis will prove to be the strongest challenger this year in the premium sedan class across the UAE,” said Khaled Issa, COO of JUMA Al Majid Group, sole distributor of Hyundai vehicles in the UAE. “We are sure that it will be love at first sight with the all-new Genesis once our clients feel the luxury, performance, economy and reliability that Hyundai is synonymous with. The all-new Genesis is a masterpiece crafted by Hyundai and it will provide customers with a new experience and value beyond expectations. I can assure customers that the all new Genesis will change their perceptions about premium luxury,” he added.
The All-New Genesis was also developed with Hyundai’s ‘Modern Premium’ values in mind, and these are evident in every detail. Even greater emphasis has been placed on design identity with the new model embodying a trio of key design elements: fluid aesthetics, the modern Hyundai look and a premium touch.
The All-New Genesis has already been celebrated for its sleek styling, recently receiving the internationally acclaimed Red Dot Product Design Award for 2014. An evolution in the original approach, which was introduced in 2009, the new nature-inspired ‘Fluidic Sculpture 2.0′ design philosophy focuses on the beauty of exquisite fluidic design, a unique concept which balances toughness and organic and sculptural softness. The exterior of the model also boasts the most aerodynamic design of any vehicle in its class.
Inside the cabin the All-New Genesis is equally stylish, integrating fluid lines and a horizontal layout. Creating a premium image was the key objective throughout the design process and as a result real wood and aluminum trim have been applied to all parts that passengers touch. Setting itself apart from its rivals, the All-New Genesis offers a number of first-in-class technologies. Cutting-edge features available include a Head-Up Display, Smart Trunk, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Blind Spot Detection and Around View Monitor. The new model also offers two types of cruise control, with an optional Smart Cruise Control complementing the standard-fit conventional system.
As a premium model in a highly competitive sector, the All-New Genesis has pulled out all the stops to ensure that occupants enjoy the highest levels of comfort and convenience. Multimedia entertainment is of the highest quality with high definition TFT displays that bring home-style image quality into the car. A 9.2” display provides the world’s highest specification and premium DIS navigation. The model also offers a world first in-car CO2 sensor which automatically activates the ventilation system to reduce drowsiness.
All-New Genesis has been developed on a totally new platform, sharing no components with its predecessor. This platform uses even more advanced high-strength steel than before, and as a result it is stiffer in both tensional and bending rigidity. All-New Genesis has the strongest body of any vehicle in its class, ensuring a smooth ride and making it one of the safest cars on the road.
Middle East and Africa customers will be able to choose from two impressive engines, the award-winning Tau 5.0-liter GDI and a Lambda 3.8-liter GDI, each one designed for optimum low-end torque, responsiveness and fuel efficiency, and both mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission with variable gear ratios. The All-New Genesis is available in five models; 3.8L Premium, 3.8L Prestige, 3.8L Platinum, 3.8L Royal and the 5.0L Royal with prices ranging from around $40,000 at entry level to $56,000 for the top-of-the-range model.
A potential deal-clincher when it comes to making ownership a stress-free experience, Hyundai’s Premium Assurance Plus Program is available as standard for all buyers of the model. The program includes a guaranteed buy-back value, free maintenance and 24/7 roadside assistance. The program is designed to give customers added peace of mind and is the most comprehensive program of its type in the region.
