Zawawi Trading Company (ZTC) – the exclusive distributor for Mercedes-Benz in Oman– has kicked off the second edition of the popular Mercedes-Benz Member Guest Series at Almouj Golf at The Wave in Muscat for 2014. Taking place on 26 April, the amatur golf competition’s format was a pairs Four Ball Better Ball stableford where the best stableford score from each pair of competitors on each hole counted.
Taking the Mercedes-Benz 4 Ball Better Ball title for April with 46 points were the pair Iain Watters and Greg Andreasen playing off handicaps of 26 and 12 respectively. The runners up in the event were Aaron O’Hara and Roger Beaumont, followed by Steve and Avis Pickering, both of whom scored 41 points.

Mercedes-Benz has been the Corporate Partner for Almouj Golf since its inception in December 2011, sponsoring the annual Matchplay Championships. Since March 2013, Zawawi has been hosting the Mercedes-Benz Member Guest Series as an additional opportunity for professional and amateur golf players to compete throughout the year.
The Mercedes-Benz Member Guest Series is run in a Better Ball Stableford Format with Almouj Golf members inviting a guest to join them for 18 holes on the Championship Course without paying the usual green fee. The format of the series allows for only the best score from the pair of players counted on each hole.
The next Mercedes-Benz Member Guest Series is scheduled for 24 May 2014.
