The much awaited Renault Captur small crossover is scheduled to hit the Saudi market during the month of September this year. It is Renault’s first urban crossover and stands out from the crowd by delivering the best of three different worlds : The expressive styling and driving position of an SUV, the cabin space and modular interior of an MPV and the agility and driving enjoyment of a compact saloon car.
Renault Captur is expected to be a huge success. It is a good option for those wanting small hatchback dimensions and costs, but with a shadow of thrill. It offers much greater personalization with its three ‘themed collections’ : The adventurous and exciting ‘Arizona’ collection, the vibrant blue ‘Miami’ collection and the urban inspired ‘Manhattan’ collection. Each of the three themes is then split into four packs – color, exterior gloss, interior touch and style – offering abundant personalized possibilities according to each customer’s preference and interest.
The Captur draws on Renault’s extensive expertise and long lasting history in car manufacturing, which is apparent through its superb design, functionality and the latest in terms of technology. The Captur has an attractive design, including an original two-tone paint, giving it a strong personality. Its compact size with high ground clearance, large wheels and underbody protection allows you to explore all facets of everyday life.
At almost 1,100kg, the Renault Captur is a relatively light car. Despite its SUV looks, all models are two-wheel drives. Add in the 1.2 litre turbo charged petrol engine and your Captur is a monster to reckon.
All models are well equipped, with air conditioning, cruise control and hill assist as standard, while the top-of-range models add a TomTom-based sat-navigation system, larger wheels and heated seats.
In terms of safety, the Captur earned a five-star crash test rating from Euro NCAP, and was awarded very high percentage scores for adult and child occupant protection, as well as a better score for its safety systems. If you want a stylish family runabout that’s inexpensive to maintain, but more practical than your average supermini, the Captur should definitely be on your list.
