SYSCOM ( Binghalib Group of Companies), A leading Automation Solution Provider and the only Solution Partner of Rockwell for the Middle East region, has successfully completed the entire automation and electrical works by selecting and using Rockwell Automation, a global provider of industrial automation, power, control and information solutions.
Syscom required a reliable package solution to install in Iraq with a minimum commissioning time onsite. The End user was a major O&G customer in Iraq. The project was awarded to Syscom and the scope of work included MCC, automation and electrical works as a turnkey package.
The unique challenge for the system was maximum flexibility keeping in view the minimum manpower available during the commissioning stage. At the same time the system performance should not be comprised. This was only possible to achieve using top notch software capabilities and having a system which is fully configurable and user friendly to every layman.
“Rockwell Automation was a best suit for such an application having unmatchable software and hardware capabilities in terms of usage, reliability and configurability” stated Uzma Qureshi, Director- Corporate Strategy, Binghalib Group of Companies
Mr. Pankaj Shrivastava, Business Leader of Rockwell, said, “We are delighted that Syscom could successfully complete the project with a high level of efficiency, seamlessness, precision and within the set budget and timeline. Moreover, the site supervision, often in challenging conditions, was carried out entirely by Syscom manpower with the support of their full in-house capabilities to execute such a job.”
During this project, Syscom undertook the complete solution for end user’s requirements including SCADA System (Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition), Redundant PAC Based ControlLogix, Soft starters, VFDs (Variable Frequency Drive) as a package in a confined space of a containerised Control Room.
The system Consists of Rockwell Automation FactoryTalk View SCADA distributed over 3 different locations. Each of the locations was fully capable of controlling the complete plant. The PAC system was realised using redundant ControlLogix Controllers in the central location and ControlLogix remote IO’s on ControlNet on the balance of two areas. The system consists of 2,000 hardwired IOs and 500 soft IOs.
The MCC consisted of Rockwell Automation SMC Flex Soft Starters and Powerflex VFDs for more than 100 motors. The system was supplied as a complete package with PAC and MCC installed in an air-conditioned containerised control room with Fire & Gas system integrated in the PAC system and fully tested for operation in Dubai, UAE and to be installed in Iraq.
