Mannai Auto Group and GMC announced the results of the third event in the current season of the GMC TriSeries Doha, which is being hosted by Qatar’s leading triathlon club, TriClub Doha, and is held at Aspire Zone.
GMC is the title sponsor of the series for the 2013-14 season which is being held using Aspire’s indoor pool and outdoor areas. This is the first such dedicated triathlon series being held in Qatar.
Adults competed in a 3/4th Olympic-distance course comprising a 1,000m Swim, 30km Cycle, and 8km Run for both individuals and team (relay). Ryan Christian and Rebecca Grace were the top individual finishers in the men’s and women’s categories.
Jay Toet and Isabelle White were the top finishers among the junior men and women respectively who completed a course of a 100m swim, 2km cycle and 1km run.
A special race category called the “Try-Athlon” was also held on the day covering a 200m Swim, 5 km Cycle and 1,500m Run. Ahmad ElGuindy for the men and Judith Vocking for the women were the top finishers.

Mr. Nickel Nijman, Chairman of TriClub Doha said: “The GMC TriSeries is designed to appeal to both beginners, who may be participating in their first triathlon, and more experienced athletes. The club will provide informal training sessions before the end of the season to allow anyone who may be new to the sport to learn from other members in the build-up to the full Olympic-distance event on 5th April.”

Aspire Zone regularly plays host to a range of family-inspired activities designed to encourage residents to adopt healthy lifestyles. Past events include the annual Doha College 10km Run and the Schools Olympic Program.
The final leg of the GMC TriSeries Doha will be held on April 5, which is a full Olympic-length course covering a 1500m swim, 40km cycling route and a 10km run.
