Hublot inaugurates second manufacturing building
Only six years after opening its first plant in 2009, luxury Swiss watchmaker Hublot has expanded, opening a second manufacturing building alongside the older one in Nyon, Switzerland.
Construction on the new building started approximately a year and a half ago. This Tuesday, top officials from the brand and its mother company, LVMH, celebrated completion of the work, part of an investment of 20 million Swiss francs, according to Hublot.
Jean-Claude Biver, chairman of Hublot and President of LVMH Group’s Watch Division; Ricardo Guadalupe, the brand’s CEO; and Marco Tedeschi, Hublot’s regional director for the Middle East and Africa, attended the inauguration, along with other brand executives and a total of three hundred guests, including brand ambassadors, VIP guests, friends of the brand and select media.
The event also launched a campaign across 73 Hublot stores across the globe, celebrating the tenth anniversary of the brand’s iconic Big Bang collection.
According to Hublot, 100 workstations will be installed in the new building over the coming five years, adding a workforce of 400 people to the brand’s production in Switzerland.
The new building will be dedicated to producing components of manufacture movements, part of the brand’s efforts to have all its movements created in-house.
