The world’s top residential estates most sought after by the super rich have been unveiled in a new ranking, based on a survey conducted by global wealth intelligence and market research firm New World Wealth.

The value of residential estates has increased tremendously among the super-affluent over the past decade for a number of reasons, such as increased security with access gates and private, on-property security personnel; the activities one can do on-property using available facilities, such as gyms, swimming pools, golf, horse-back riding and tennis, among others; lifestyle and community perks residents can enjoy in nearby parks and schools; gatherings with neighbours; playgrounds for children; and, having limited or controlled traffic, considered to be safer for children.

Below are the world’s top-rated residential estates for 2016:

1 Yellowstone Club – Big Sky, Montana, USA

This private residential club sits at the top of the list. It features a world-class golf course and resort, ski slopes and hiking trails.

The estate offers different types of residences with prices ranging between $2,495,000 and $19,500,000.
