As part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility, Abu Dhabi Marine Operating Company (ADMA-OPCO) organized a Social Media Workshop on April 24th at its Headquarters in Abu Dhabi. The event aimed to highlight the importance of introducing and establishing robust social media policies and strategies in ADNOC & Group of Companies and exchange expertise and best practices in this field.
H.E Mohamed Nasser Al-Ghanim, Director General of the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority, delivered the keynote speech of the workshop which grouped together representatives of ADNOC & Group of Companies’ Shareholders with professional social media companies, experts and consultants.
Addressing the workshop, ADMA-OPCO Chief Executive Officer Mr. Ali R. Al-Jarwan singled out the pioneering role played by the UAE leadership in supporting and championing innovation in the country.
“Our UAE leadership, being at the forefront of innovation, has set an example in being role models through their presence in social media platforms. For us in ADMA-OPCO, interacting with the community and our stakeholders is an integral part of our mission and a key factor of our values.”
He underlined the growing importance of social media in enhancing company-scale competitiveness and generating long-term economic profit, “with companies now seeking to achieve a sustained competitive advantage through effective presence via different social media.”
“I am confident that the exchange of views in this workshop will help develop a proactive social media approach in ADNOC & Group of Companies,” he added.
Speaking to the audience, H.E Mohamed Nasser Al-Ghanim said that TRA’s participation in such significant workshops is part of a wider strategy to constitute a fundamental pillar in “our shared endeavors to share best practices with the society with the objective of establishing a reliable foundation for the completion of the Smart Government transition process in the country in line with the ambitious vision of our wise leadership.”
Cyber security is a critical element to ensure the sustainable development of our nation’s knowledge economy,” he said, calling upon ADNOC & Group of Companies to adopt standard regulations and legal frameworks to ensure cybersecurity and prevent cybercrimes.
Two panel discussions were held as part of the workshop and the panelists spoke on their respective experience in areas of social media and their solutions to the challenges encountered in this field.
The issue of e-security featured high on the discussions and the panelists explored the latest-state- of- the -art technology reached to forge efficient solutions to the challenges and success factors for a sound security policy.
The workshop was a good opportunity for ADNOC Group of Companies’ representatives to work closely with highly experienced professionals who are well versed with the key challenges the organizations face while implementing social media policies and strategies.
An exhibition ran on the sidelines of the workshop on social media activities and techniques by professional agencies working in the field.
