AT&T Inc. has settled a lawsuit over its refusal to carry Al Jazeera Satellite Network’s US cable-news channel on its pay-television service, Bloomberg has reported, citing two people familiar with the agreement. The accord will allow Al Jazeera America onto AT&T’s U-verse pay-TV service as part of the settlement, said the people, who asked not to be identified because the terms were private. Al Jazeera sued AT&T in August 2013, alleging the phone provider violated contracts by refusing to allow the broadcaster’s new channel on its cable-TV network.
