Dubai’s leading events promoter, Done Events, has today announced that following the huge success of its two recently launched festival concepts, and given the demand of Middle East music-lovers, RedfestDXB and Blended will both return as full two-day festivals in 2015, with line-ups to rival the host of international artists that took to the stage for the festivals in 2014.
Virgin Radio RedFestDXB 2015 will once again be staged at Dubai Media City Amphitheatre on Thursday 12th and Friday 13th February 2015. The festival, which this year was headlined by none other than The Lumineers and Jessie J and included artists such as Rita Ora, John Newman and a number of well-established performers and DJs on the weekend long festival line-up, promises an unrivalled artist line-up including top international pop, RnB and electronic dance music artists. It doesn’t stop there, with DJs playing live across two stages and lots of other exciting plans to give the people of the Middle East an authentic festival experience – this is one not to be missed.
Hot on the heels of RedFestDXB, Blended 2015, in association with Solo Events, will make an exciting return to Dubai on Thursday 30th April and Friday 1st May 2015, after widespread acclaim that saw the unique two-day festival welcome onstage music-legends such Elvis Costello, Diana Krall, Aloe Blacc and Xavier Rudd. This chilled out festival complete with picnic areas, front row “sofa” seating and a boutique shopping village, is unlike anything ever seen before in Dubai. Blended 2015, promises a unique mix of blues, roots, jazz soul and folk and is sure to be an even bigger success.
Thomas Ovesen COO of Done Events said: “We always felt that what Dubai and the region’s music scene was really lacking was a festival concept like we see in other parts of the world; and the reception we had to both RedfestDXB and Blended was testament to this. We had an amazing first season for both festivals in 2014 and we are extremely confident that year-on-year each will continue to attract the best international talent to Dubai as the festivals go from strength to strength. We hope to build on and grow in 2015, creating international festival brands that over time can become synonymous with Dubai, with thousands travelling for across the regional and beyond to enjoy great live entertainment.”
Ovesen continues: “It’s fantastic to see such a large number of people across the Middle East recognise and encourage quality, live music. We will be spending the summer relentlessly working on the line ups for both festivals, ensuring they best represent the individuality and uniqueness that each festival brings, with more exciting announcements expected throughout the Autumn.”
Music lovers across the region are encouraged to stay tuned to Virgin Radio Dubai and keep checking the RedFestDXB facebook page for artist announcements after the summer. For Blended fans new announcements will be listed on www.blended.ae later in the autumn.
