The Saudi Radio and Television Authority has awarded two contracts worth SR327m aimed at boosting the kingdom’s television and broadcasting industry, Saudi Gazette has reported. The first contract, amounting to SR250m, was awarded to a Saudi company and involves operation, maintenance and cleaning works of the television network, in addition to safety and security works. It covers all the 100 radio and television stations and centres across the country. The second deal, worth SR77m, was signed with a Saudi firm specialised in television production and distribution. Under the three-year contract, the company will extend news services and undertake live transmission for the six channels of Saudi television.
