Tamkeen is preparing to begin registration for the second batch of its Public Relations and Graphic Design Training Programme. The programme, conducted in partnership with twofour54, the commercial arm of the Abu Dhabi Media Zone Authority, is in line with its objective of developing Bahrain’s human capital according to labour market needs.
In all, the programme seeks to train 100 Bahraini job seekers in the fields of public relations and graphic design. The registration for the second batch will commence in the next few weeks and includes 30 trainees in total split evenly across the two fields, in which they will learn about principles and best practices during the theoretical part, followed by two month internships at local companies to apply what they learned and gain job experience.
Launched in November 2013, the programme was developed after a study showed the labour market’s need for qualified Bahrainis in the media sector.
The 30 trainees who made up the first batch were also split evenly across the two specialisations, with the Public Relations group completing their training in January, while the Graphic Design group is set to finish in April. Both groups are currently doing their practical training at a number of local companies.
The Public Relations course, which runs for 6 weeks, details how to run media campaigns, engage the public, and manage crises. In addition, trainees learn relationship building skills, and key message development and delivery.
The Graphic Design course meanwhile will run for 6 months and focuses on how to develop and execute creative concepts, as well as the principles of branding and selection of suitable design elements.
Local enterprises which want to accommodate the trainees for the two-month internships may contact (17-211311). More information about the programme and eligibility requirements can be found on (tadreeb.twofour54.com).
