twofour54 creative lab, the media and entertainment talent development arm, and Abu Dhabi Film Festival will conclude its famous classic and modern film screenings at The Galleria on Maryah Island this weekend.
The “Cinema under the Stars” programme, which is part of the Spring Festival, will show films on three consecutive evenings beginning Thursday, 1 May, at the outdoor promenade area between the AlMaz by Momo and Emporio Armani Caffè. All cinema screenings are complimentary.
On Thursday,When I Saw You, a Palestinian family drama that won the Best Arab Film award at the Abu Dhabi Film Festival, will begin at 19:30. The Red Shoes, a British film made in 1948 about a ballet dancer, will start at 21:30.
On Friday, Ostora, a short animation that combines the history of the Union of the Emirates, along with tales from Ancient Greek mythology, will begin at 19:30 followed by Daddy ABC, another short animation about a couple and their newborn, at 19:37. The feature-length romantic adventure, The Princess Bride, will begin at 19:45 followed by Amreeka, about a divorced Palestinian woman with a teenage son, at 21:30.
On Saturday, West Side Story, the famous musical about feuding gangs, begins at 19:30 and is followed by Sun Dress, an Emirati film about a deaf and mute woman, at 22:15.
