Global communications and digital specialist Wunderman won a number of prestigious awards at the 2014 Jordan App & Web Awards (JAWA), held Sunday, June 8, at the Grand Hyatt Amman. During the event, which welcomed more than 350 specialists from Jordan’s burgeoning ICT sector, Wunderman Jordan received a total of nine awards in both website and application design, including ranking as the second runner-up for the coveted Web Company of The Year award.
This year’s Jordan App & Web Awards was the fifth awards ceremony organized by MediaScope, and the first to include categories for mobile applications. Two independent jury panels – one for websites and one for mobile apps – were responsible for judging and ranking the entries based on a number of criteria. Wunderman Jordan won three awards in website categories – two bronze and one silver – and five awards for its development of mobile and Facebook applications – two gold, two silver and one bronze. The agency dominated the social media application categories, receiving gold awards for its development of Orange’s ‘Reasons to Believe’ application and Samsung’s ‘Curve It’ gaming application. Wunderman Jordan also claimed the title of second runner-up for Web Company of The Year, which is based on a tally and ranking of all website awards won by each company.
Commenting on the occasion, Wunderman Jordan Country Manager Michael Zeiler said, “It is an honor to have the Wunderman Jordan team recognized and awarded for its hard work. As an agency that specializes in digital integration, our team works hard to develop and deliver websites and applications that align strategically to our clients’ communications across the board. At the end of the day, we aim to deliver innovation and high levels of customer engagement for our clients, and these awards provide positive affirmation that we are reaching and exceeding our goals. This would not be possible without the support of our clients, who we would like to sincerely thank for their continuous cooperation and trust.”
The Jordan App & Web Awards (JAWA) has evolved from the Jordan Web Awards (JWA), which was successfully organized four times between 2006 and 2009 by MediaScope. The awards event has reemerged in 2014 with the addition of categories for mobile applications. JAWA aims to serve as inspiration for web designers and developers across the Kingdom by recognizing exceptional innovation in the industry. As the only event of its kind, JAWA is well-established as a trailblazing event for Jordan’s ICT sector.
