DMF 2014 to honour the best in region’s digital industry
The region’s top movers and shakers in the digital media industry will be honoured at this year’s Digital Media Forum (DMF), which takes place April 23-24, 2014 in Dubai and one month later on May 28-29, 2014 in Cairo. For the first time, Spoton Media Services and Events organisers of the annual industry event, which attracts stakeholders from across the regional media spectrum, have introduced a set of awards that they are bestowing on those judged to have been the most effective utilisers of the platform, acknowledging their success in the fast-evolving and dynamic sphere.
The MENA Digital Awards is the only awards scheme in the region that focuses solely on the digital sector, with organisers saying that they have been introduced with the aim of promoting excellence throughout the industry. The awards, they say, have been designed to recognise success stories and excellence in the sector, thereby setting the benchmark for the best in planning, creativity, innovation, effectiveness in digital marketing, technology and production.
“For the first time DMF will honour those judged to have made the most significant impact on the region’s digital media sector. Based on the nature of the digital landscape, we have identified a number of categories that emphasise the importance of the medium digital across different industries, so there are a number of ways one can be acknowledged,” said Najla Semaan Mazboudi, MD of Spoton Media Services and Events, and Founder of the Digital Media Forum and MENA Digital Awards.
“We believe that we have set the standards very high and we did this deliberately to enhance the value of the awards, which are being judged by well-known industry names from digital agencies, advertisers and media houses,” she added.
The first ever MENA Digital Awards comprises 10 categories, including; Best Search Marketing Campaign, Best Use of Data, Best Performance Campaign, Best Application for a Mobile/Tablet, Best Use of a Mobile, Best Use of Social Media, Best Use of Video and Social Brand of the Year. Two awards, Best Integrated Media Campaign and Best Integrated Digital Campaign, honour specific marketing promotions. All categories have been selected so as to not focus on media companies alone, meaning that a variety of businesses from across industry sectors are eligible to enter.
The MENA Digital Awards event follows and concludes the 2 day event of the Digital Media Forum 2014 which revolves around twin platforms: ‘The Digital Experience: Challenges and Dynamics’ and ‘Recognising Achievements.’ Designed for stakeholders looking to embrace the latest experiences and advances in brand engagement, advertising, audience involvement and community management, DMF 2014 will examine which digital powers are driving the future of media, what it takes to make an impact and how to ensure a continued lifespan in these ever-changing and continuously evolving industries.
“This is the third DMF, with the previous two events proving a resounding success. We are able to go from strength to strength by attracting the biggest and brightest regional and international names in the industry,” said Mazboudi.
“This year, the platform ‘Recognising Achievements’ will be the first time we have used the event to honour success in the industry with specific awards. We are hoping that these awards will become a benchmark for quality for digital media operatives in the region,” she added.
The Dubai DMF 2014 will take place on April 23-24, 2014 at the One & Only Royal Mirage, Dubai. A number of prominent media landscape leaders have been invited to the forum to discuss their experiences and share them with the hundreds of digital media stakeholders expected to attend.
