DMI supports third Dubai International Peace Convention as official media sponsor
Dubai Media Incorporated (DMI) announced its media partnership with the third Dubai International Peace Convention that is currently underway at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
Set to conclude on April 19, the convention held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has drawn the participation of prominent scholars and clerics from various Arab and Islamic countries.
As part of its support to the convention, DMI offers live coverage of the opening and closing ceremonies on Sama Dubai channel. In addition to live broadcasts of the Friday prayers on Noor Dubai and Sama Dubai, DMI will air interviews with the conference participants on Dubai TV, Dubai One, Sama Dubai, Dubai Radio and Noor Dubai. DMI will also record the proceedings of the convention for broadcast at a later date. Meanwhile, editorial teams from dailies under the DMI umbrella, including Al Bayan and Emirates Today and the online portal Emirates Business 24/7 will ensure extensive press coverage of the event and its guest speakers.
A fully integrated and up-to-date media center has been allocated for the convenience of local and international media covering the third International Peace Convention.
Mariam Al Afridi, Marketing and Corporate Communications Director at Dubai Media Incorporated and Head of the third Dubai International Peace Convention Media Committee, emphasized DMI’s commitment to play a prominent role in disseminating the message of global peace and stability advocated by the event. In a ceremony hosted on the opening day of the peace convention, Dr Omar Mohammad Al Khateeb, member of the award’s Board of Trustees, thanked heads of divisions and members of different committees involved in organizing and hosting the landmark event. He appreciated the continuous support of DMI as media partners, as well as leading companies in the UAE such as Emaar as platinum sponsor, Lulu Hypermarket Group as gold sponsor, and Dar Al Ber Society, Sharaf Travel, Al Rostamani Group and Emirates Real Estate Solutions as silver sponsors. The Community Development Authority, Events Security Committee and Dubai World Trade Centre are also supporting the event as strategic sponsors.
Dr Al Khateeb reiterated the directives of His Excellency Dr Hamad Bin Al Sheikh Ahmed Al Shaibani, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for World Peace and Chairman of the Dubai International Peace Convention, to take this year’s convention to a higher level in line with the UAE and Dubai’s status as a melting pot of cultures and religions. He expressed confidence that the new activities and initiatives would further reinforce the country’s role as a significant contributor to world peace.

The third Dubai International Peace Convention features inter-faith panel discussions in multiple languages among eminent scholars and clerics including Sheikh Mishari Bin Rashid Al Afasi (Kuwait), Sheikh Yusuf Estes (US), Dr Zaker Naik (India), Sheikh Ismail Bin Musa Minq (Zimbabwe), Sheikh Mohammed Salah (US), Sheikh Tawfiq Chowdhury (Australia), along with Sheikh Noman Ali Khan (US), Sheikh Asim Al-Hakim (Saudi Arabia), Sheikh Waleed Basyouni (US), Sheikh Abdul Bari Yehya (US), Sheikh Saeed Rageah (Canada), and Sheikh Ahmed Hamid (India),and Arnoud Van Doorn (The Netherlands).
The three-day event welcomes public participation in community initiatives such as the Intelligent Peace Dome, a Science Fair, Friday prayers, the Peace Pledge Campaign, Children’s Corner and the 2014 Peace Football Tournament for schools.
