Nokia to spin MixRadio music streaming service
Nokia has decided to turn MixRadio into a separate steaming music company, as Microsoft looks to slim down with layoffs and restructuring, the Guardian has reported. While the app will still come preloaded on Windows Phones, it will also become available for Android and iOS, the report said. “I’ve been meeting with potential investors around the world in the last few weeks,” said MixRadio chief, Jyrki Rosenberg. “We have very strong interest from investors in the US, Europe and Asia, and we remain open for further discussions.” MixRadio launched in 2011 as an app called Nokia Music, preloaded on Nokia’s first Windows Phone handsets.
