Abu Dhabi Education Council (Adec) has said the quality of teaching and learning is a key weakness at private schools across the emirate, and standards at almost 60% of institutions fall below the level required for pupils to reach their learning outcomes, Gulf News has reported. According to a report released by Adec’s Private School and Quality Assurance division, only in 15% of schools is the teaching rated as good when compared with international standards, while 21% were considered satisfactory. In addition, only one in every six schools boasts good, very good or outstanding leadership and management, said the report.
