Al Maabar allocates sales proceeds to the King Hussein Cancer Foundation in Jordan
The King Hussein Cancer Foundation (KHCF) and Al Maabar, the developers of mega mixed-use projects across the region, have signed an agreement through which Al Maabar will support an expansion project currently underway in Amman, Jordan, at the King Hussein Cancer Center (KHCC).
The agreement was signed by Her Royal Highness Princess Dina Mired, Director General of the King Hussein Cancer Foundation, and the Managing Director of Al Maabar, H.E Yousef Al Nowais.
Through the agreement, Al Maabar – the master developer of the Marsa Zayed project in Aqaba, Jordan and The St. Regis Amman and The Residences at The St. Regis Amman – will provide customers who have already purchased or plan to purchase residential units at either of the company’s projects the option to donate the equivalent of 0.25 percent of the value of their purchase to the KHCC expansion project. Al Maabar will then match these donations, for a total donation of 0.5 percent of each purchase.
The KHCC’s expansion project will include the construction of two new buildings with an area equivalent to three times the size of the current center buildings, doubling the capacity of the center. With the new expansion, the KHCC will be able to reduce the number of patients on its waiting list and ensure their comfort as they receive highly advanced treatment and exceptional care.
HRH Princess Dina Mired thanked Al Maabar, saying, “We would like to thank Al Maabar for implementing this distinctive initiative and for providing ongoing support to the King Hussein Cancer Foundation and Center. Every dinar donated will bring us closer to achieving our mission to provide the best treatment for cancer patients, which contributes directly to saving the lives of our patients.”
HE Yousef Al Nowais highlighted the vital importance of the role played by the King Hussein Cancer Foundation in the treatment of cancer patients in Jordan and the region, and the efforts of the organization to fight the spread of this disease.
Al Nowais added, “We are keen to support the King Hussein Cancer Foundation’s noble cause. Along with creating distinguished real estate developments that harmonize with the local community, we believe in working hand-in-hand with various government and non-governmental institutions to strengthen local communities and their wellbeing to overcome the challenges they face. We are proud to further extend our support to the King Hussein Cancer Center – one of the region’s pioneering and leading medical destinations.”
Al Maabar has also recently renewed its subscription in the King Hussein Cancer Foundation’s Cancer Care Program (CCP) which is a non-profit coverage program that provides cancer care coverage and guaranteed treatment at the King Hussein Cancer Center (KHCC) – one of the top cancer centers in the world – in return for a minimal annual subscription fee, as no other insurance company in Jordan provides guaranteed cancer treatment coverage at KHCC.
