Apparel Group to open an array of new stores at Bawabat Al Sharq Mall
Global fashion and lifestyle retail conglomerate, Apparel Group continues its expansion plans across the region with 18 new stores scheduled to open this year in Bawabat Al Sharq Mall, Abu Dhabi.
Bawabat Al Sharq Mall is one of Abu Dhabi’s popular shopping destinations and is a true shopper’s paradise, consisting of more than 240 stores, a hypermarket and a cinema complex all spread out over two floors.
Subhi Benkhadra, CEO of Baniyas Investment and Development Company – owners of Bawabat Al Sharq Mall, noted: “This carefully considered Partnership with Apparel Group actively reinforces the already strong tenant mix, reflecting the needs and desires of the mall’s customer catchment community”.
Apparel Group, which represents international brands such as Tommy Hilfiger, Nine West and Tim Hortons, has seen exponential growth over the past few years.
“The introduction of 18 new stores in Bawabat Al Sharq Mall will further strengthen our foothold in the Abu Dhabi retail market” said Nilesh Ved, Chairman of Apparel Group. “We are constantly adding new and exciting brands to our portfolio, and our new store openings in Bawabat Al Sharq Mall will also feature 7 new brands to the UAE market”
The line-up of stores due to open in the mall includes well known brands such as Aldo, Skechers, Nine West and Charles & Keith. In addition, brands like Beverly Hills Polo Club, All About Watches and Bottega Verde are just a few of the new stores to be unveiled.
Abu Dhabi represents the highest potential for new investments within the UAE for international investors. The growing demand for premium retail space has escalated owing to the population growth, increasing spending capacity of residents, as well as the surge in tourism.
Speaking on new retail real estate projects in Abu Dhabi, Mat Green, Head of UAE research at CBRE Middle East said, “We will see a dramatic transformation of the retail landscape, both in terms of supply and quality. We are also expecting an influx of new retail brands, some of which will be opening their first stores in the region. Overall, we see this is an exciting time for retail in the capital”.
